Ordination of
James Wesley Sells
Saturday, September 11 at 11:00 a.m.
at Gloria Dei
Lutheran Church in Lubbock.
Presiding will be the
Rev. Dr. Kevin Kanouse, Bishop of the
Northern Texas-Northern
Louisiana Synod of the Evangelical
Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).
James, a
member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, began attending
the
church in 2001 while
a student at Texas
Tech. During that time, he served the church as choir
director and administrative assistant. He graduated from
Tech in 2005 with a B.S. degree in architecture. This May,
he graduated from Wartburg Theological Seminary in Dubuque,
Iowa, with a Master of Divinity degree. He served his
pastoral internship at American Lutheran Church in De Smet,
South Dakota, under the direction of
Pastor Randall Koeller, who will deliver the message at the
ordination.
James
married a fellow seminarian, the former Rebecca Flores, and
the couple have been called to serve three rural parishes in
Nebraska, First (McCool Junction), Prince
of Peace (Geneva), and St. John's (Ohiowa) in Nebraska.
