The
Sunday Morning Bible
Study groupmeets at 9 a.m.,
and is using the
Augsburg Adult Bible Studies series. From March through
May, the focus is Our Community Now and in God’s Future,
based on I John and Revelation. The study’s author,
Nathan K. Aasengpresents the
purpose of the study as follows: "The love discussed in I
John is far more than an emotion, and Revelation is far more
than a cryptic brainteaser. These scriptures reveal
important truths about God. We explore how Jesus Christ is
the light that leads us to embrace God’s presence in our
lives. The study encourages us to faithfully follow the
light – to avoid getting lost in the wilderness of
self-gratification – so that God may give us the best that
life has to offer."
Thursday Bible Study
With everyone's busy schedule, the Thursday
Bible Study
group is taking a summer break. It will resume meeting
in August. During the school year, it meets at 1 p.m. and is based
on the Revised Common Lectionary series,
using the
Lutheran Bible Ministries bible study.
It helps us
understand the text readings for the coming Sunday. We also
use the
Daily Discipleship lesson found on the ELCA website
to learn how the Bible relates to our life.As one
participant describes it…."It embraces the Spirit for
Sunday worship."
